VenomX

Product & Venom

VenomX supplies venom from Androctonus crassicauda, collected and characterized under controlled conditions for laboratory and research use.

Species

All venom is sourced from Androctonus crassicauda, a scorpion species native to Türkiye and identified by a recognized scorpion taxonomist. We work exclusively with this species; we do not blend or substitute other Androctonus or scorpion species.

An individual Androctonus crassicauda specimen handled before collection
Each specimen is handled individually before collection.

Collection

Venom is collected from individual specimens by electrostimulation under cold-chain conditions, then stored at −80°C to preserve protein integrity from milking through to analysis and shipment.

Venom milked from an Androctonus crassicauda by electrostimulation into a collection tube
Individual electrostimulation collection — venom is milked one specimen at a time into a graduated tube under cold-chain conditions.

Form supplied

Venom is supplied lyophilized (freeze-dried) to specification via a partner laboratory. Frozen liquid venom is available on request for partners with the appropriate handling and storage capability.

Product specifications

Summary specifications for research partners evaluating supply. Quantities, presentation, and shipping details are confirmed per enquiry against your protocol and handling capacity.

Species
Androctonus crassicauda only — taxonomically identified; no multi-species blends
Intended use
Research and laboratory reagent only — not a medicinal product
Standard form
Lyophilized (freeze-dried) venom, prepared to specification via a partner laboratory
Optional form
Frozen liquid venom on request (requires appropriate cold-chain handling and storage)
Collection
Individual electrostimulation milking under cold-chain conditions
Interim storage
Held at −80°C from milking through analysis and until release for shipment
Characterization
Protein-level analysis by independent laboratories (HPLC fraction profiling at 280 nm, SDS-PAGE, UV-Vis, protein quantification), including OECD-GLP-accredited work where applicable
Batch identity
Lot / batch identification with documented provenance and chain of custody
Quantity & packaging
Supplied to agreed specification — enquire for available quantities and vial presentation
Shipping
Cold-chain or form-appropriate packaging arranged per order; destination import compliance remains the buyer's responsibility

Figures and methods below describe VenomX practice and characterization work to date. Lot-specific values appear on documentation supplied with each shipment.

02

What you receive

Each supply is paired with documentation so partners can file material for internal QA, grant reporting, and import records. Scope of paperwork can be confirmed when you enquire.

Characterization summary / CoA-style pack

Lot-linked summary of protein-level characterization for the material supplied, aligned with the methods used for that batch (HPLC, SDS-PAGE, UV-Vis, and protein quantification as applicable).

Chain-of-custody statement

Documented path from milking through storage, characterization, and release, so received material can be traced back to VenomX collection and handling.

Species identification note

Confirmation that venom is sourced from Androctonus crassicauda identified by a recognized scorpion taxonomist (Prof. Dr. Ersen Aydın Yağmur).

Method list

Clear statement of analytical methods applied to the batch, consistent with VenomX's independent-laboratory characterization programme.

Handling & research-use notice

Research-and-laboratory-use only disclaimer and high-level handling context for institutional biosafety and receiving teams.

Commercial shipping documents

Invoice and packing documentation suitable for institutional procurement and customs clearance (buyer handles local permits and duties).

Full laboratory reports and additional technical detail from independent characterization partners are available to research partners on request.

Applications

Ion-channel and venom-peptide research, including Na⁺/K⁺ channel pharmacology
Antivenom development and reference or immunogen material
Peptide discovery and screening
Comparative venomics
